A new ransomware campaign, targeting supporters of Elon Musk, has emerged, utilizing multi-stage PowerShell scripts and Netlify-hosted payloads. This variant of Fog Ransomware features a satirical ransom note from a fictional character, Edward Coristine, and includes a YouTube video mocking Musk, blending financial motives with political commentary. The attack begins with phishing emails containing misleading PDFs, leading to a sophisticated infection chain that employs advanced obfuscation techniques and kernel-level access tools.
